Our Team

Markus is an Associate for Ballard Partners. Markus began his professional career in high school by leading a project to inform the Panamanian underprivileged youth about their rights as children. This effort was in collaboration with a local nonprofit called “Futbol con Corazon,” (FCC), as well as the local UNICEF branch. He then went on to intern for the Alfaro Ferrer and Ramirez law firm, where he assisted in several legal investigations and research. When he gained admission into Georgetown University, Markus held internships at both Nestle and Paychex, where he focused on how to inform corporate leadership about political and legislative developments that affect the respect industries. He also served as a consultant on strategies that could be employed to pivot the company to adapt to said developments. He also interned on Capitol Hill for Senator John Cornyn. Before his Associate position at Ballard Partners, Markus was a Research Assistant for the firm.

At Georgetown, Markus worked as a Communications Associate for the Institute of Politics and Public Service. He designed a variety of media resources used by the instituted and was involved in several campaign strategies to increase awareness about respective projects. He was previously Director of Communications for a Student Government presidential administration and was a Sub-board member of the Bipartisan Coalition. He co-founded the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance (GEMA) and served as the Co-Director of Communications.

Growing up in Guatemala, Germany, and Panama, Markus is trilingual (English, Spanish, and German). He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics with a concentration in International Security from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. He also obtained a minor in Psychology and a certificate in Global Diplomacy.
